Lumi beauty assistant
Matches the shade, checks the ingredients
Lumi is Sugarcoat Beauty’s shopping assistant. It matches a foundation shade from the one a customer already wears, builds routines to a skin type and a budget, and checks ingredients against what they want to avoid. When someone reports a reaction it gives safety advice first, logs a product-safety report and opens the refund, and it never diagnoses.
What Lumi does for Sugarcoat Beauty
A beauty-counter expert in the corner of every page: it sells by matching and checking, and it knows when to stop selling and look after someone’s skin.
- 01
Matches the shade from one they already wear
A drugstore number like 220, a code like NC30, or just “light-medium”, plus an undertone. The shade model picks one of Cloud Skin Tint’s 16 shades and always names a close alternative. Its confidence drops when no shade sits close, and when an old shade and the visitor’s own words disagree, it asks rather than guesses.
- 02
Builds a routine to the budget
Skin type, concerns, a budget and must-haves go in; cleanse, treat and moisturise come out with the total. Only products made for that skin type make the cut, and when nothing suits a step or fits the budget, Lumi says so rather than swapping in something that won’t suit.
- 03
Checks the ingredients, not the label
Vegan, fragrance-free, nut-free or a named ingredient, answered from each product’s own ingredient data. “Nuts” or “perfume” run as the matching check, a name missing from a list comes back “not listed”, never “all clear”, and another brand’s product is reported as unknown, never guessed.
- 04
Safety first when skin reacts
The first thing back is the advice: stop, rinse with cool water, call 999 if the lips, tongue or throat swell, otherwise a pharmacist or GP today. A product-safety report is logged with a reference at the same time. No diagnosis, ever.
- 05
Tracks the order
An SB- reference is all it needs: being packed, on its way with the carrier and the day it’s due, or delivered, with the items listed.
- 06
Returns that respect the hygiene rule
Unopened items go back within 30 days; opened make-up can’t come back for a change of mind. A reaction is always refunded, opened or not, and a fault within 30 days of delivery, after which the care team takes a look. The rule is code, so nobody can talk it round.
The rules Lumi keeps
Whatever a shopper says. Each one is enforced by the tools’ own code or written into Lumi’s instructions, so it holds on a busy Saturday as well as in a demo.
Safety comes first. A reported reaction gets stop, rinse and call-999 advice before anything else, and Lumi never diagnoses or suggests a treatment.
Ingredient answers come only from the ingredient data. If a product is not in it, Lumi says it cannot confirm rather than guessing.
Every shade match comes with its confidence and an alternative. Lumi never promises a perfect match it cannot see.
Returns follow the hygiene rule: opened make-up and skincare cannot go back for a change of mind. A reaction is always refunded, opened or not; a fault within 30 days of delivery, and after that the care team takes a look.
No invented discounts, no card details in chat, and no upselling past the budget a customer sets.

- Chat 01Find my shade“I wear 220 Natural Beige in another brand, warm undertone. Which Cloud Skin Tint shade am I?”A shade from another brand becomes a Cloud Skin Tint match with its confidence and an honest alternative, an ingredient check, then into the bag.Run this chat

- Chat 03Routine under £40“Can you build me a skincare routine under £40? I’m oily and acne-prone, and it has to be vegan.”Oily, acne-prone and vegan on £40: a three-step routine with the total, then a fragrance check that swaps out one step and still lands under budget.Run this chat
What to watchIn the reaction chat, Lumi’s first words are safety advice (stop, rinse, call 999 if the lips, tongue or throat swell) and a check for those warning signs. It logs a product-safety report as it goes, never diagnoses, and refunds an opened serum the hygiene rule would otherwise refuse.

The counter is open
Watch Lumi match a shade, rebuild a routine around a new must-have, and handle a reaction the way a good counter would: advice first, then the paperwork.
